Vote for George

Dear friend,

If you want change in Revere then I need your help to do it. But before I ask you to go to visit the Join the campaign page ,I want to tell you a little bit about me. You may know me as the Ward 4 Councilor who is working to change government or you just may know me as Gabriella and Amanda's Dad. Or you may not know me at all. So I like you believe government needs reform and I need your help to continue the changes I started.

Since taking office five-years ago as your Ward 4 Councilor I have worked with you and acted as a conduit to City government. I have advocated for our neighborhoods by repairing roads, worked to protect our families from predator and made government accountable to you the taxpayer.

Together we were able to board up blighted properties, increase police patrols to coral drug dealers on the streets and in  houses on Park Ave., Warren St., and Tudor St. to just name a few . We had police remove marauding kids off our streets and held an absentee landlord responsible for his cockroach infested home.

Moreover, when we started in 2003, nearly every major roadway in Ward 4 was crumbling apart. During this time we paved almost every major roadway in Ward 4: Park Ave., Central Ave., Ridge Rd., Suffolk Ave., and many more. Through these efforts we secured over 7 million dollars in Federal and State aid.

Additionally we wrote a gang ordinance which gave the police another tool to stop gang recruitment. And when a Level 3 Sex Offender lived across the street from the McKinley School we worked together and removed him! During this same-time we became a model for all communities in Massachusetts and wrote the first Residency Sex Offender Law in which Level 3 Sex Offender can't live near our schools where our children learn.

Likewise I fought for accountability in city government when no public official in government would do anything about waste and corruption; I stopped illegal drain-laying which jeopardized our water supply and exhausted city resources.

I fought to have the State audit the DPW where we learned that 46,000 gallons of gas was not accounted for and many more issues were uncovered. I work with the Mayor to fix old and outdated policies and procedures that wasted taxpayer’s dollars at the DPW. And because of years of fighting the city is now setting up an inventory system to ensure your tax dollars are not wasted.

Although much has been accomplished, more needs to be done and I need your help to continue change. If you want to be part of this change please go to the join the campaign page and sign up. But if you can't help by holding a sign, making phone calls or licking stamps; then I am respectfully asking you for 1 of your 5 votes for Councilor At Large. So I can have the privilege to represent you on the Revere City Council and continue the changes we started.

Sincerely,

George Rotondo

Candidate Councilor at Large.

Proven change you can trust!
