Economic Development

If Revere is going to be a livable, successful and prosperous city, we must continue to provide the type of environment that promotes business and economic growth within its borders. The equation is a simple one, business and industry equal jobs and prosperity.

Collectively, the Revere City Council and Mayor Ambrosino and his staff have worked cohesively to be responsive to the needs of industry and mindful of our neighborhoods. One could say, a partnership has occurred in which now the City of Revere is on the verge of an economic renaissance. We as a community have changed the way of doing business in our city and now the fruits of these labors are self evident with the completion and construction of the following projects.

  • Federal Express Depot
  • Construction and flourishing of Target, Stop and Shop and other businesses at Suffolk Downs
  • Channel Builders preparing a multi-million development at Bell Circle
  • Development of the Multi-Million dollar B.J's wholesale Club.
  • Construction of the new Walgreen's on Broadway.
  • Half billion dollar Wonderland Transit Oriented Project that will focus on mixed use residential, retail and commercial development and create hundreds of jobs for local residents
  • As well as working with representative from Jay Cashman to explore the possibility of bringing wind energy to Revere.
The continue expansion of responsible development is very important to creating a strong and healthy business sector, which will be able to increase the tax base and thereby, reduce the real estate tax burden currently being borne by the residential property owner, as well as provide jobs to Revere residents.

Likewise as a member of the Revere Resident monitoring committee, it was my privilege to ensure that Revere residents built Revere Schools and other capital projects in Revere. To date well over 100 residents have worked on Revere projects.

Revere has a lot to offer our families and has so much potential, as you can see we have accomplished much, but I am not satisfied. There is much more that can and must be done to truly make Revere a great city and with your help I know we can!
